Endeavour Hills was a major Greater Dandenong release through the 1980s and into the early 1990s. The blocks slope toward the foothills, the houses are split-level or double-storey on the slope, and the original gas storage tanks (Rheem Stellar 170/250, Vulcan 250L) are mounted on a concrete pad on the lower side of the block. We see a lot of 25–30+ year old units still struggling on. The cylinder life is well exceeded; the anode is long-gone. We replace 3–4 a week here.

Owner-occupier majority — ideal for the rebate.

Endeavour Hills is heavily owner-occupier (~70%), settled families, mostly under the $210K household income cap. That makes the suburb an excellent fit for the Solar Vic heat-pump rebate: a 280–315L heat-pump (Reclaim, Sanden, Stiebel) lands at $3K–$4.5K net. Running cost savings are particularly strong here because the existing 25-year-old gas storage units are inefficient even compared to a modern gas instantaneous.

Sloping blocks — compressor placement requires planning.

Heat-pump compressors need a level concrete pad with clearances for airflow (typically 500mm front, 200mm sides).
